“Starr Chen” is the equivalent of dance music in Taiwan’s music industry in recent years. He literally “grew up” in the club LUXY that his music has been deeply influenced by hip-hop, rap, and electronic music. He was a member of the acclaimed hip-hop group, Young Souljaz, which debuted in 2004. He joined EGGO Music Production and Sound in 2009 through his good producer friend, TEN. From 2014 to 2016, Starr has produced and arranged for music heavyweights like A-Mei, Show Luo, Vanness Wu, Elva Hsiao, Jeanie Hsieh, Da Mouth, One Two Free, etc. Starr also produced Jolin Tsai’s album “Play” in 2014, of which got him nominated for Best Single Producer and Best Music Arranger at the 26th Golden Melody Awards. He also served as the music director for Jolin Tsai’s Play World Tour. Starr Chen is working for his solo debut album, which is bound to release in December 2016.
